Correction/school today
Message de charlemagne91 posté le 26-12-2009 à 10:59:23 (S | E | F)

Bonjour,
pouvez vous m'aider à corriger ce texte ?

In the past, school was harsh, and pupils received a strong education. But there is no doubt that schools today are more broad-minded and lenient. Some people believe that we should go back to old values. Is modern school worse?

This raises the question of to comparing the two schools. First and foremost school during Queen Victoria’s reign was more authoritarian than today’s school. Not only was talking forbidden but also lessons had to be learnt by heart. Today it’s utterly different and teachers like when students communicate.

What I find great in old schools is respect. The most interesting point is the good behaviour of children in the 19 century. There is a contrast with today.
Yet we must remember that humiliations were often the lot of children. Teacher used corporal punishment and I can’t see why they beat bad pupils.

I am convinced that modern school broadens a lot of horizons. To conclude I disagree with this opinion.

Merci d'avance

Bonsoir,
In the past, school was harsh, and pupils received a strong education. But there is no doubt that schools today are more broad-minded ( si good-looking devient better-looking, que deviendra votre adjectif?)and lenient. Some people believe that we should go back to old values. Is modern school worse?

This raises the question of to (pas les deux en même temps)comparing the two schools. First and foremost school during Queen Victoria’s reign was more authoritarian than today’s school. Not only was talking forbidden but also lessons had to be learnt by heart. Today it’s utterly different and teachers like when students communicate.

What I find great in old schools is respect. The most interesting point is the good behaviour of children in the 19th century. There is a contrast (je pense que c'est du français traduit, il faudrait quelque chose de plus anglais)with today.
Yet we must remember that humiliations were often the lot of children. Teachers used corporal punishment and I can’t see why they beat bad pupils.

I am convinced that modern school broadens a lot of horizons. To conclude I disagree with this opinion.
