I have some trouble with the use of these tenses in some specific cases, though I have understood the rules of their use in general.
For instance when I arrive at the course centre and I want to know if the teacher is already here, should I say Did the teacher come? or Has the teacher come?

Hello,
None of them I am afraid. You should say for instance:
Has the teacher arrived yet?
Is the teacher here already?
What time did the teacher arrive?
Regards.
