Expression /misery in the world
Message de zizou33 posté le 02-11-2009 à 23:11:08 (S | E | F)

Bonjour,pouvez-vous m'aider pour ce devoir:
expression en anglais:
" What would you be ready to do in order to relieve the world's misery?" (150 words)

To relieve the misery in the world I would give all that I have too instead of throwing them. Send trucks of food and clothes to the poorest countries. Take them the knowledge, the necessary technology to advance. I would send to every "poor" country, an agricultural engineer and a specialist of the weather report, which(who) would study the best cultures to be made in the country, and then, to send to them, seeds and hatch.
The more, I would give funds(collections) to build schools, because the education is very important. The parents have no means to send them children to the school. Know how to read and write is very important in the life of everything in daytime.
Finally, I would participate in associations and voluntary works. I would send quite medicines too to the countries which need it, to create hospitals. People have no means of paid the care. I would mobilize everybody has to help and has to give some money for the poorest countries.

Je voudrais savoir si mes phrase sont correctes.
Merci.

> I would give all that I have too
- I'm not sure about the of the word "too" here (note "to", "too" similar-looking words)

> instead of throwing them.
I don't understand..

> Take them the knowledge, the necessary technology to advance.
This would have to be "give them".

> and a specialist of the weather report,
"a meteorologist" - a person who studies the weather?

> which(who) would study
needs to be "who would" (only could be which would if it is an inanimate object or possibly an animal).

> the best cultures to be made in the country,
Don't understand this part.

> and then, to send to them, seeds and hatch.
to many commas here.
"hatch"? - don't understand this word.

> The more, I would...
You need something like "In addition, ..." or "I would also..."

> I would give funds(collections) to build schools,
"give funds" is fine, if you mean "money", "I would give funds" means "I would give money". See also "start a fund" - an organisation that gathers money.)

> because the education is very important.
no definite article here, simply "education".

> The parents have no means to send them children to the school.
their children

> Know how to read and write is very important
"Knowing how"

> in the life of everything in daytime.
don't understand this

> I would send quite medicines too to the countries which need it
- I don't understand the word "quite" here.

> People have no means of paid the care.
- The idiom is "have (the) means to (do)", so it has to be "have no means to pay"
- The verb "pay" needs "for" after it if the complement is the thing that is bought, examples: "I paid for her meal" but "I paid the waiter and left", "I paid a £600 fine for speeding".
The definite article needs to be removed unless there is a complement following as in "the care of x" examples: "The home provides excellent care for elderly people.", "The home specialises in the care of the elderly."

I would mobilize everybody has to help and has to give some money for the poorest countries.
