Haggis, Beurk, not for me !!! Not because it's Scottish, because I don't like offals.
In fact, I prefer mix up different kind of cooking.

When you say "jely", what do you mean exactly?? How do you cook that??

I don't know that dessert and I hope "jelly" isn't plum pudding (because some of my friends said it spends a long time in caves before beeing eaten??? (I'm sceptical)

Could you please throw light on it!!

Thank you

Romu

Jelly (with 2 "L") is a fruit-flavoured clear dessert set with gelatine
You can also find it called Jello

[ETYMOLOGY: 14th Century: from Old French gelee frost, jelly, from geler to set hard, from Latin gelare, from gelu frost]

I love english food I have already tasted haggis I found it very good but my favorite food will always be american food! french are so close-minded they always think their food is the best in the world but they don't even taste other food!

Sirius,

What do you like in American food, they don't know how cooking ! The vegetables are not completely cooked, they don't have real cheese, they don't use cream. I've never so badly eaten than in USA !!! Even Italian food is not good. That's not their fault, but how can you cook real "Lasagnes" without butter for the bechamel sauce, without cream, and without cheese ! That's the same thing for the pizzas, you can't find a 4 cheeses pizza because ... you need 4 different cheeses !
Fortunately, there were Asian restaurants !
Our American friends prefer too French food than American food.
A lot of people (even not French) say that French food is the best in the world ! And saying that doesn't mean that we are close-minded and we don't even taste other food!
So have you ever tasted a Chinese speciality : Feet ducks ??? I did !

Réponse: re de sirius, postée le 2004-05-20 17:20:03 (S | E)
no thanks i'm vegetarian i'm not a criminal who eats livings beings!

I do like the american food that's my problem i'm not alone ; I like it because 20% american are vegetarian dunno if you ever go to america but there's always a vegetarian meal that's fantastic not like in france where they hunt unfortunate little animals ans they ask for more time to hunt horrible!

You can cook French veggie food.

You said you tasted haggis. Do you know how it's cooked ???? That's not at all a veggie meal !

Be more realistic in your posts Sirius

Réponse: re de rosminet, postée le 2004-05-20 18:59:55 (S | E)
Maybe you'll change of mind about USA when you'll be older !
USA life is not a dream, it's a nightmare ! If you are rich, you can do all you want, but if you're not, you can't do anything !

In France, you don't need to be rich to go to school or university. That's not the same price in USA !
In France, you have the "sécurité sociale" in USA, the first thing they ask is your credit card !
In France, you have "la retraite", in USA, if you want to earn money when you'll be retire, you must save money for that. So, if you don't earn enough money to live and to save for later, you can't stop working. And, if you can save money, as you buy shares on the stock exchange, you can loose all ! (e.g ENRON!!!)
A lot of american are obese, more than in France (In percentage of the population). That's a fact !

Réponse: re de sirius, postée le 2004-05-20 19:06:41 (S | E)
I mean that I have a right to like any food without be critize and talking about the "securite sociale" I don't really care!!
I intend to go to america to live the american dream like my brother who became rich in america and that's recent!!
America is the best country in the world unless france

Let me laugh !!! You are vegeterian because you don't want to hurt animals. And you venerate USA, this barbaric country where death penalty is already applied !!!

Hey, Sirius,
you are generalizing all the French !

=> rosminet... exactly what I have been telling sirius in (about 5) pms during the past hour or so...

You see sirius... don't do to others (other nationalities/countries) what you don't want them to do to your PRECIOUS usa...

Once more, you're wrong, dear sirius, I'm a so-called "patriot" and not anti-america as you said, it's just a matter of facts : It's like that, after travelling quite everywhere in the world, it seems that one best place is in France, but that's my point of view, because I KNOW what i'm talking about, and I absolutely don't want you to change yours.
Accept that sometimes, you're not right and you can't change people's mind.

Réponse: re de sirius, postée le 2004-05-20 22:46:14 (S | E)

you have the right to love a country but you DON't SYSTEMATICALLY HAVE TO critisize all the others (or France) as mentioned in one of my numerous pms to you, you do not know half of the things about France ...

give your opinion... advice... but don't generalise .

No Sirius, you began "french are so close-minded they always think their food is the best in the world but they don't even taste other food!"

That's a generalization about French people ! At 17, I don't think you know all French people to affirm that ! As well I think you don't know enough american people and way of life to affirm they're better than us !

I asked some questions about food, but nobody answers me !!!

So, I think that's not intersting to say I like English food or I hate English food ! I want to know what you like in English food (or other country) or what you hate !

I said I don't want to taste haggis because I know how it's made, and I don't like the ingredients ! And haggis is not an English meal, but a Scottish one !

I don't like English breakfast, because I never take breakfast ! Not because that's English ! But, sometimes, I like Canadian breakfast : pancakes and Mapple Syrup.

I like also Chinese food, even that can be a little bit too spicy for me.
