I have a very hard time to find out the meaning of this word" Look ahead". The sentence goes like this: If you are reading a novel by Stephen King, you probably don't LOOK AHEAD to discover how it ends.

Je dirais : "quand tu lis un roman de Stephen King, tu ne sautes pas jusqu'à la fin pour savoir comment cela se termine".

( tu n'as pas encore fini de le lire mais tu as déjà une idée de la fin ).

the sentence's confusing. You defined 'look ahead' as = avoir une idee a l'avance, then came up with this following translation: "tu sais deja comment ca se termine"...though, the orignal sentence is : 'You DON'T look ahead to...'...I reckon, the meaning is something like: 'when you read a S.King's novel, you don't quite look forward to discover how it ends'...in the sense that his novels usually have pretty gloomy and dark endings and that you're somehow stressed out to find out they're gonna end up...
